Ever since the invention of internet, the use, user and usability are on the rise constantly. The pace at which the internet has grown can be termed as revolution in the history of mankind.
It has been one of the most important contributors in globalizing the world and making world a global village along with international trade, sophisticated means of communication and transportation.
> Today, when we talk about internet, ONLINE is the ubiquitous world that we come across. It’s a worldwide phenomenon.
ONLINE means when you are connected to the internet. The term ONLINE started as functional, became fashionable and now it has got generic connotation.
The term online has led to identity crisis in many users life. Online and offline existence have created split personality in many cases.
> KARMA means what you do, as simple as that. KARMA is your actions, something that you carry with yourself for rest of life.
No, I am not suddenly deviating from the topic. With simple meaning of karma, attach the meaning of your online activities.
Amalgamation of these two words, ONLINE and KARMA gives us a new word ‘’ONLINE KARMA’’, a new concept which says what you do online is your online karma…… ( OMG, Am I developing a new theory here….?)
A quick imagination will lead you to think various activities that lead to ONLINE KARMA.
# Chatting: I guess this is the 1st thing people do after getting familiar with internet. No wonder it has led to some great friendships and marriages too.
# Downloading music, movies, clips, pictures etc.
# Social networking sites such as orkut, hi5, facebook etc have changed the way we keep in touch with others
# Online shopping and trading (B2B, B2C and what not), online banking
# Online gaming and virtual reality (the next big thing).
# Blogging (ahaaa…)
This list will go on and on and on….. ONLINE KARMA is here to stay.
As you carry your karma with you….. always. You carry your ONLINE KARMA whenever you are online.

My online karma today was to post this comment.....lol...but the question lies whether online karma is a subset of karma or is there a parallel existence..if it's the former it implies our conscience check in the virtual world....actually if the link is really that strong i would prefer to term it as "Virtual Karma".... do i induce positives on my karma by sending multiple fwds of the pic of sidhivinayak ganesh.... to put it in a nutshell, do my acts on the virtual zone have a spiritual correlation with my karma....maybe that's the question nearest to my querry...also, it reminds me of one of our discussions when we discussed active and passive karma at the macro and micro level.... also looking at its alternendo, does our act in person signify our attitude in the virtual world or can we infer on a person's real self by his/her online existence....
but all this in the stride, i think ppl shud indulge in some serious karma rap....(hitesh, maybe that's another term in the making).....

i tihnk it is the subset of karma as u said... the karma includes online karma or virtual karma as u called it..... n ur actions in virtual world does have a correlation with ur karma as the online karma or virtual karma is a subset of ur overall karma.....
Here i would like to point to ur notice one more imp fact that many a times it has been observed that action of individuals in real life n in virtual(online) world are contradictory in nature which can be termed as two extremes......
all of us have a subconcious mind where all the thins that ur mind have suppressd over a period of time is stored.... many introvert ppl behv in vry outspkn n extrovert way, when they r in virtual world as the identity can be easily witheld....
i'm glad that there's concurrence with my point....however i feel u are confusing the karma with the subconscious psychology....now i feel that the human psychology to bring out the suppression thru a channel may not cover online karma in entirety....let us look at it from a broader perspective first and then narrow down to the states...i feel karma can be classified into either white or black....i'll go back to my question again by asking that...do our acts on the virtual world determine (and i'm not talking abt motive) our existence on the white or the black ?? subconscious suppression of thoughts emerging out can only be an indicator but not a calcilator of our actions... let's look at it frm the implication point of view...as karma quite often is the net figure after all the additions and deductions, if i can quantify that... that gives an idea...why not inject values into our actions and chk the score...i presume if we don't reach the number...at least we figure out the coefficient of correlation of our actions with the karma...wat say ??
