The other day I found myself without pen in the lecture and I had to borrow it (how pathetic) from someone else. It wasn’t for the first time but this incident made nostalgia struck me like a seawave, the whole affair.... the intimate and one of a kind with the beautiful thing called PEN.
There have been myriad of experiences with the pen.
I was never a brand conscious or never cared to think of using any other colour then ubiquitous blue... Until one day when I was in class 9th when one of my teacher after so called analysis of my writing suggested to use a black pen... According to her, placing of words and distance between two words in my writing meant that I have lot of things running in my mind and I am not able to express myself and this kind of writing will look good in black....
I am still wondering what she meant by this but since then I am using only black pen....
There was a time in school when I tried all kinds and types of pens be it gel or ink or ball point, but finally I settled for ball point pen and that too only Mitsubishi black ( I know its a news for many people that Mitsubishi also makes pen.)
I am religiously using Mitsubishi pens for past almost 10 years. Its funny but I used to tell my friends in school childishly that if this company stops making the pen, I will stop writing....!! And still when I meet those friends they curiously ask me "Do you still use Mitsubishi black pen?" only to get a big smile from me....
One honest confession…. the secret is out now....
Not many people know this but I used to collect empty refills of my black pen.... I still have those.... and here I am laughing at it.... bizarre it was....
There is one more interesting aspect about me and my pens.... I keep losing them... I really hate someone asking me for my pen because noone bothers to return it.
My college library was one unforgettable place for me where I had lost more then 50 pens in 5 years and I used to wonder how to react when the librarian herself used to ask for pen....
After so much blabbering about pen, how can I forget the PENCIL....? NO matter who the person is, he or she must have had pencil in the hand at first attempt of writing in his or her lyfe.... The journey starts from here…. so all you educated, learned, intelligent people out there should express your gratitude towards pencil... Lolz...
I was shopping for books and landed up in stationary section of the store and out of curiosity bought one box of pencil because it’s been ages since I have bought a pencil. I used to take it from my cousins studying in school whenever I needed one so I never knew that simple thing like pencil have been hit so hard by inflation and became expensive...)
When I was in school there were two major brands of pencil, Natraj and Apsara... and I never liked Natraj because it came in red colour and preferred Apsara because of its black and silver colour. And I dint quite understood the technicality of types and kinds of pencils such as HB HP and what not... I preferred HP because to me it simply meant Hitesh Patel....
I still prefer writing with pencil wherever possible because I just love the sound of friction between graphite and paper while writing.... I can’t get enough of it....
Interestingly I never liked any sophisticated penpencil and enjoyed simple traditional wooden pencil and yes I hate pencil with eraser on top…. it looks ugly....
Pencil - A thin graphite stick covered with wood, as simple as that, right....? Wrong, as a small kid I used to wonder how the hell they put this black thing inside the wood.... Lols....
BTW have you ever wondered sharpening the pencil is an art and the waste that comes out as a result of sharpening can tell you lot about your skill and the quality of the pencil....
Isn’t it amazing.... what say......?
That’s it for the time being about this untold saga. Time for you to refresh the memories entwined around omnipresent pen and pencil in your lyfe.... meanwhile ill go and sharpen my pencil....
This blog is an attempt to bringout the innermost feelings, random thoughts and crazy ideas from SELF....

Unfinished Task
It feels great to breathe the air of Mumbai again (I know its polluted but this is way of saying that I am back home in Mumbai…. Bhavnao ko samjho…:)
Ha to I was saying that its always feels great when your back home no matter where have you been.
Had wonderful time and much needed break but now is the time to finish some unfinished task and one of them is unread books or so to speak my TO READ list….
It seems that nowadays I on mission to buy books, I hardly completed two books last month but bought more then eight and the stock of unread book is northbound these days.
I am buying more books than I am reading…. May be its random thing to happen, may be its unconscious effort to find solace in these books, may be I like to flaunt my collection of books… I don’t know….
Currently reading, The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. One of the best written novel I have read, the portrayals of characters are unparalleled and the philosophy of objectivism presented in the story is mind blowing.
Apart from the usual academic books, following are the unread books on my current TO READ list….
> Motorcycle Diaries By Che Guevara
> Love and Longing In Bombay By Vikram Chandra
> Thousand Splendid Suns By Khalid Hosseini
> Life Ahead By J Krishnamurthy
> Commentaries On Life By J Krishnamurthy
> It Happened In India By Kishor Biyani

Searching for Fireplace in Mumbai.......
Surprise surprise....!!!
Yes, you read it right.... In Mumbai...
Many things happen in lyfe for the first time and I am witnessing this kind of weather, first time in Mumbai....
If you are in Mumbai, the mercury reads as 8.5 degree.... It may sound exaggerated but for your information its lowest in last 50 years. This kind of cold weather is unheard of in Mumbai and has a novelty factor for people like me.... Its feels great to have "so chilled" winter.....
Lifestyle of average mumbaikar for past some days has been dominated by the weather in some way or the other.... For example.... Hot topics of discussion nowadays in local train for office bound mumbaikar are not Stock Market and Sensex but the cold weather and "How many Degrees Celsius"....
Sometimes I feel like pinching myself to make sure its not a dream.... and wel.... at the end of the day I wish I had fireplace at my home.... Lolz....

AHA Moments of Lyfe....
They rightly say we miss out on small moments of joy in pursuit of bigger ones. It’s not only the big achievements and feats and accolades that counts, you have got to learn and enjoy smaller things that makes you happy and makes you learn to enjoy and understand the nuances of lyfe....
These are some random Aha moments (!!!) as I like to call them, which are adding up that extra bit of fun and happiness in my lyfe which effortlessly brings smile on my face reminding that the lyfe is beautiful - its worth living every moment......
> An evening on beach
> Buying a new book (And the best part is, I read them too…. J)
> Glancing through frozen times.
> Posting a blog entry and getting a comment.
> Spending Sunday evening with friends over gentlemanly deeds. (Needs no further explanation)
> Listening to Friday Night Love Show by Fali was one such moment.
> Nostalgia in the moments of solitude.
> Reading “Cosmic Uplink” in ET editorial early in the morning.
> Random discussions with friends over a dose of caffeine at CCD.
> Listening to With Or Without You after short hiatus.
> Dressing up in black on anyday anytime....
> Being alone in crowd.
These are not the only but some of the many of those AHA Momentz.... How about yours.....?

Muje change chahiye......
Yeah.... I need change........ of 100/- or 500/- or may be 1000/-
It seems strange and funny but true... As usual I don’t understand why I run out of change every time, everywhere.......
Having change in my wallet is like a luxury for me, owing to my poor track record of having change, which causes embarrassment at general stores to even at auto rickshaw Walla’s.....
Looking for change with 100/- note in hand is like searching for water in desert, the whole world seems to be running out of change when I need it... (or is it a well planned conspiracy ha....??!!!)
There are two types of situation, 1st is when you know that you don’t have change (and you know you cant do anything about it) and you go to buy something, in this situation you tend to get defensive and pray that the person will not ask for change, and when you really get what you want without being asked for change, its like...... phewwww.... bach gaye....
2nd type of scenario…… You don’t even know that your running out of change until its the time for payment, and when you realize this harsh reality(of lyfe), your facial expression says that its the biggest shock of your lyfe.... and the eternal struggle to find the change starts with one of those high denomination notes in hand.... or else you end up buying more than you really want....
Imagine a scenario where after buying chewing gum for 2/- you end up buying chewing gum plus mineral water plus chocolate plus chocolate cream biscuits (!!!) plus what not.... just because you did not have change...... well, these things are not new to me....
One more..... I invariably catch the auto rickshaw and then realize that I don’t have change....when I offer 100/- note to him, he looks at it trying to copy my embarrassment as if its a fake note.....( and I feel like banging my head on the meter which reads as 9/-)....
And this thing invariably happens while coming back home.... but in this situation I take the help of my lender of the last resort... Yes my building watchman.... I have lost the number of count as to how many times I have borrowed 10/- from him. He comes across as god send savior in this moment of crisis.....
So... all you people out there who sympathize with me and reciprocate these feeling are welcome to share the views... May be together we can find out the solution for this....

This one is for Lexical lyfe.....
Sometimes, the urge to write is so strong that this is the kind of output it eventually brings out...
The use of English has been confined to communicating when needed, reading and writing off late, it has hardly taken a dominating role in my common parlance but then too some of the words in English has assumed greater importance in life and these are the word which I like most and which dominates my thinking and personality in some way or the other.
So, here it goes.....
'We all need little bit of MADNESS in our lives.' Yours truly once said this.
MADNESS is the word which has always attracted me for its ability to generate positive vibes (you can always disagree). It has a dash of arrogance to it.
It is certainly the word I am trying to inculcate in my life.
‘I believe in KARMA.’ You will find this line somewhere here in this blog. A word adopted in English from Sanskrit which literally means all of your actions will have equal repercussions, affecting you.
I am still trying to understand and comprehend the theory of KARMA but one thing for sure I like the whole concept. This covers whole lot of traits such as values, principles and ethics which forms the basis of the KARMA.
INERTIA has been always strong in my case. Its kind of inbuilt mechanism in my mind which makes its presence felt in the thoughts and behavior to certain extent.
And another thing, to be very frank I like the way it sounds, certainly one of the most beautifully sounding word in my dictionary.
I like RANDOM things. I like things randomly which does not have set pattern and has ability to surprise at times. How about RANDOM life....?
In recent past it has been the case as far as the life goes and let me confess that I am loving it.
MELANGE: A varied mixture of various elements.
MELANGE of colours... MELANGE of emotions... and an abstract MELANGE... aah...
It’s very interesting to put this word in the various aspects of life. Something that says there are no extremes in life. Little bit of this and little bit of that, basically a MELANGE of interpretation.
Last but not the least, 'LIFE'. I guess this is the most overused word in my dictionary with gamut of meanings. So simple but yet so complicated.
LIFE = Feelings, Dreams, Reality, Insanity, Passion, Sadness, Serendipity, Nostalgia, Money, fame and all other shit that you can think of.
This word covers the world in itself; I believe this word can not be defined absolutely. There’s always room for ones own interpretation.
I don’t know why but I always feel that it should be spelt as LYFE and not LIFE but as always it always can’t be the way you want it to be.
Such is LYFE.....!!! I mean LIFE....
That’s it for now....

Frozen times
They say you can’t stop the time, but don’t you think we can?
Photographs are nothing but time frozen in frames. Time may have moved on but that click of your camera has frozen that moment of time in the frame for eternity.
Photographs are symbol of man's eternal desire of relating to its past, to dive into nostalgia, to relive those moments.
Every picture has a story to tell…. That bursting emotion, charming expression, the beauty of object.... It gives unexplainable high at times and acts as unparalleled source of inspiration.... It truly is silent communication.
Everything seems beautiful behind the camera through the lens....
And finally the disclaimer.... This has been written in very happy and nostalgic state of mind so might come across as narrow minded thinking so readers discretion is advised.... LOlz....
Happy clicking....

INERTIA...
as they say is very strong and I am feeling it, still trying to sink in the feeling of HERE AND NOW world…
Going out was never like the same. It was different may be because of varied reasons like the purpose of going, accompanying people, expectations and probably the destination…
Went with a child like enthusiasm and had some wonderful time with some wonderful people. It proved to be a great learning experience. Formed some opinions, created memories, had some meaningful discussions, and gathered some food for thought and realizations were always there as usual…
Certain things were centre point of life for that 11 days and they are still making their presence felt in sub-conscious mind…
Here it goes
9W 117 …Royal National …2306…Pounds…Tesco…Russel Square…Oxford Street…BhelpuriHouse…Motijheel…MacD…Carlsberg…LSE…Oyster…Tube…Primark…Magic 105.4…99 Pens Store…Starbucks…
I know it all sounds like abstract but wel... Thats ME...

Sabse piche hum khade....
Its amazing how music has such an everlasting impression, it has a power to occupy your mind and thoughts. It can put you in hibernation or make super active....
Heres one more amazingly beautiful song by Silk Route. A kind of song you'll prefer when in blue....
Simple lyrics, powerful effect....(!!!)
Zara nazar uthake dekho.... Baithe hai hum yahi....
Bekhabar mujse kyu ho.... Itne bure bhi hum nahi....(2)
Zamane ki bato me uljo na.... Hai ye aasan janena....
Khudse jo agar tum pucho.... Hai hum tumhare ke nahi....
Teri aankho ka jadu.... Puri duniya pe hai....
Duniya ki iss bhid me.... Sabse piche hum khade....
Sabse piche hum khade....
Mehfile aai aur gai.... Log aye aur gaye....
Tum jo aaj ayeho.... Dil me ho bas gaye....
Muskura ke baat talo na.... Fir miloge jo kahi....
Dekhna yahi kahoge.... Itne bure the hum nahi....
Teri aankho ka jadu.... Puri duniya pe hai....

How to say NO….?
If you’re reading this to find the answer of this question den m sorry to disappoint you,
Because I am also in search of the answer….
It seems very simple but most of us know how difficult it is....!! I am sure everyone must have faced this problem as to how to say NO, unless you’re like me who finds it very difficult owing to the particular kind of nature.
When it comes to do something against our beliefs or value system, the mind goes for a toss.... There is nothing black or white; everything is in the shades of grey....
99% of the time, the world is not going to stop if we say NO to someone, but the problem is that we overlook that 99% and go for the remaining 1%....
Hai koi jawab..... How to say NO.....???

Partners In Crime
AKA Friends....
Remember...? Together we did so many things for the 1st time in life which is otherwise forbidden. Friends were partners in that crime and till date the partnership continues in some or the other way...
Ever wondered how many kinds and types of friends we make in entire life time…!! school friends, college friends, society friends, tuition and classes friends, social friends, post graduation college friends, travelling friends, online friends, room mates, office colleagues, friends through common friends........
Friends.... Undoubtedly one of the most important influence on anybody's life with hard to find an exception in this regard. They influence what you like, what you speak, what you do to certain extent….. To cut the long story short, they have the major say in determining the personality.
If we think of life as a journey, then friends are people who travel with us when our path meets. We travel together creating memories on our way to cherish them later on, till our path and priorities change. We say goodbye to some of them and welcome new ones on our journey… Try and relate this to friends that come in our life….
It’s very difficult to be in touch with all these friends nowadays days in our so called busy life. We don’t have time for friends with whom we had some wonderful time of our life..... Strange.... isn’t it...??
Off late, Orkut has made it easy for us to be in touch with our long lost friends. Writing testimonial for some of my close friends is on my TO DO list for quite some time now, but lets se when ill do that.
I know I have not kept up with the title in this post but who cares...? I couldn’t find better title then this and after all, it’s not necessary that title should correlate to content.......!!! Friends are indeed partners in crime; at least I prefer calling them this way.
As I finish writing this, some known faces intrudes my mind and fills me with nostalgia....

MONEY....PASSION....PERFECTION....OBSESSION....EGO....
DESIRE....INSANITY....MADNESS....
Little bit of everything....
When you are feeling lonely its loneliness, when you think about your future and aspire to be something or get something its dream, when you think of good and bad the ethics, values, principles, character, karma and all comes in picture.
Thinking about life you will come across all these words which more or less define LIFE as a whole. All these words takes a lead or plays an important role in ones life at any given point of time, depending upon the situations, circumstances and mindset of the person at that time.
It certainly is a ramification of past experience, future expectations and surrounding environment. These are the things that determines the behaviour of individuals and gives a dimension to the personality, but the biggest question is whether these things leads to the actions of human beings or the actions of human beings leads to these things........?
It’s worth giving it a thought..........
CHARACTER....HONESTY....INTEGRITY....
LIFE....KARMA....FRIENDSHIP....MEMORIES....
FAMILY....LOVE....EMOTION....DEVOTION....
PROBLEMS....PAIN....PLEASURE....
GOALS....DREAMS....REALITY....PEACE....CHAOS....
FEELINGS....LONELINESS....HAPPINESS....SADNESS....

Online Karma
WWW
World Wide Web
Just look at the meaning of the words. The network which is worldwide, which has its web spread across the world.
Ever since the invention of internet, the use, user and usability are on the rise constantly. The pace at which the internet has grown can be termed as revolution in the history of mankind.
It has been one of the most important contributors in globalizing the world and making world a global village along with international trade, sophisticated means of communication and transportation.
> Today, when we talk about internet, ONLINE is the ubiquitous world that we come across. It’s a worldwide phenomenon.
ONLINE means when you are connected to the internet. The term ONLINE started as functional, became fashionable and now it has got generic connotation.
The term online has led to identity crisis in many users life. Online and offline existence have created split personality in many cases.
> KARMA means what you do, as simple as that. KARMA is your actions, something that you carry with yourself for rest of life.
No, I am not suddenly deviating from the topic. With simple meaning of karma, attach the meaning of your online activities.
Amalgamation of these two words, ONLINE and KARMA gives us a new word ‘’ONLINE KARMA’’, a new concept which says what you do online is your online karma…… ( OMG, Am I developing a new theory here….?)
A quick imagination will lead you to think various activities that lead to ONLINE KARMA.
# Chatting: I guess this is the 1st thing people do after getting familiar with internet. No wonder it has led to some great friendships and marriages too.
# Downloading music, movies, clips, pictures etc.
# Social networking sites such as orkut, hi5, facebook etc have changed the way we keep in touch with others
# Online shopping and trading (B2B, B2C and what not), online banking
# Online gaming and virtual reality (the next big thing).
# Blogging (ahaaa…)
This list will go on and on and on….. ONLINE KARMA is here to stay.
As you carry your karma with you….. always. You carry your ONLINE KARMA whenever you are online.
So… whats your ONLINE KARMA today……….???

Realizations.......
Experience..... This is something that life teaches you.
It can be good, bad or ugly....
Realizations are by products of these experiences... these are some of my realization from interaction with the thing called LIFE
# Never judge a book by its cover, same goes with people.
# It’s all about money honey.
# The thing that you think is your strength is actually your weakness.
# Being together is not friendship.
# Life is not all that complicated as we see it.
# Nobody dies virgin, life fucks all…. unknown
# I should learn to say NO.
# Always underestimated myself.
# Happiness- so far, so close. Its a subjective term.
# Movies are not all that crap.
# I have changed.
# Jealousy takes you nowhere, envy does.
# Winner takes it all.
# Finally, I can write sense.

Aajkal.....
Hmmm.... aajkal life is crawling at very routine, monotonous way for last 22 days.
Well, exams are on and it has made the going dull.
I get up at everyday at 8 in the morning; take a breakfast watching Tom and Jerry (!!) at 9. Start the studies and study till 12 then again get ready and leave for the exam.
Paper starts at 2:10 daily instead of 2:00, I don’t know y? I and karan finish the paper with little bit tankjhank at each others papers. Leave for home after some quick analysis of the paper with friends. Its so much fun watching and observing peoples reaction after exams. I come online around 7:00
in the evening, do some tp and get back to books by 9:00 or so.... study till 12 and then go to bed and get up next morning at 8:00..............
- Was stunned by the news of VTec shootout and death of Indian student named Minal Panchal. Spent hours thinking on the incident. a senseless act of some XYZ person made her 'was' from 'is'.
May her soul rest in peace.
- In last four days pandu caught me twice, once for PUC and once for helmet. second time I gave away the license instead of money.
So this is what I am up to....... aajkal.

RedBox and Ferrari
It was the occassion of celebration of our success as a group which has stunned everybody rather than just surprising. It was also occassion of confeesions, mutual admiration, some brainstorming and some future plans of 3rd trimester.
The session was great especially after putting in so much of hardwork(read slogging), burning our nights sleep for countless days and leading a BPL (Below Poverty line) life as a PG student(this is also a topic for special discussion).
Theres this guy Karan who has been with us since the beginning of the trimester. I never knew so much about this chap. He is that typical happy go lucky, been there done that kind of attitude free genuine person. And I dint knew he owns Ferrari....!!
"If I had a voice like yours, Aishwarya Rai would have been mine." Karan to me.
I dont know under what EXTERNAL influence he said like this but now you know its mutual admiration club....
May the madness and insanity last forever....
Now its time to get back to work and start preparing for mother of all exams, 18 papers in 21 days.... marathon as they say....
